Sun Rises on a New Year

Good Morning 2012!

I love new years, new notebooks, new canvas, new ideas, new plans and

no reasons that everything cannot be absolutely wonderful.

I did not paint the above sunrise but I've experienced it many times from my front

window in the mountains and it never ceases to feel like a NEW year, no matter when I gaze upon it.

Hope springs eternal, thank God!

The side of my brain that makes lists and charts projects has been busy with plans for

for 2012 but for now I will spare you the details.  Suffice it to say,

plenty of fun, lots of challenge, new places and new work.

After posting for a year (this is #99) I considered ending the blog and doing something

different with the time it takes.  Alas, I have found that explaining my work,

seeking an artful subject, sharing the projects of others, and spreading the

joy of owning art has been more beneficial to me and my growth than I ever could have imagined.

Besides I have met so many wonderful new artists in the process (on-line friends and mentors)

that quitting would deprive me of their valuable input.

I'm not kidding myself: the joy I had hoped to bring to you, dear reader, was a primary motivation for beginning...and your feedback warms the cockles of my heart more than you know.  But now I write because I must.  And I hope you will spread the word and share the ride....for one more year!
