I believe that art enriches and informs our lives everyday in many positive ways. Sharing those experiences, whether as an artist or as an appreciator, is part of the pleasure. I welcome your comments and hope you find something of value: a laugh, an insight, a new idea or just a happy moment. Enjoy art!

The Stones Spoke!

AveryCounty Arts Council   Friday, September 2
Opening of The Stones Speak

Above Dan Greene sets the scene with his music on the front porch.
Fay Picardi read the poetry she did as part of our collaborative project on stones.
According to this seasoned reader the audience that evening was one of the best:
responsive, attentive and very interested.

Below are a few more shots from the evening.  Folks spilled out onto the lawn and lingered to visit with friends and enjoy Dan's music.  Fay even had the honor of being asked for a second, private reading for a few late arrivals.

What a delightful opening....our worries were unfounded
as friends came by to see what the project was all about and to treat themselves to the first ever poetry reading for the Arts Council.  Director Caitlin Moorehouse kept ringing up the books as Fay and I had fun signing them.  The evening rains held off until the last bottle of wine was finished and the
chairs packed away.
The show hangs in the gallery for the month of September so hopefully more
folks will have the opportunity to visit and enjoy.
The Avery County Arts Council was the perfect setting for a relaxing
evening of art, poetry and friends.
Whew!
