I love pears: the shapes, the colors, the taste, and their infinite value as a still life subject. All artists have painted pears at one time or another. Somedays I even admit that I am shaped much like a pear!
If only my skin were this flawless!! I digress. Anyway, my pear collection is as much about my friends and the variety they bring to my life as it is about art. Each piece is precious for its own reasons. I will share just a few here but keep in mind that I also have pears handmade in glass (oooohhhh) and pottery (ahhhhh) and brass (clink). Each piece brings to mind someone in my world that has added color and excitment to it.
Do you have a tiny, precious, personal collection of art? And why not?
A fun post Cindy. Miss you on Monday's!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Cindy! I agree! I especially enjoy trading with other painters.

ReplyDeleteIf all artists paint pears, I guess I'm gonna hafta get down to the grocery store and see if I can find a pear the inspires me so I can be a real artist when I grow up! LOL
ReplyDeleteNo, no Kirk, not all! Don't even think of changing your subjects! Altho I would love to see the kind of pair (!) that inspires you...
