Not as easy as it looks! Whew, Donna Vines has been working on several methods of collage and offered to share a few tips with our painting group one day. We were to bring a canvas and old magazines or interesting papers and she brought the apples and the medium. It was a ton of fun but when I stepped back the first morning I had lots of color and no definition of anything! And I had thought all week about it being Eve's apple, not just any apple and yet nothing was coming forth as a clear object. So back to the canvas....three more sessions (and many, many layers of paper) I decided to call it done. The title "Let her be loyal" comes from a saying on one of the leaves near the stem. I have a huge new appreciation for those artists who work exclusively in collage now...it is not as easy as it first seems.
