Newnan's Lake, just southeast of Gainesville, has a fascinating history. A photo taken by Sarah Swanson caught my eye as she captured the reflections of the sky in the water. Wanting to play I got her permission to work from the photo and came up with three versions of the scene. Lots of artist-license employed. One was done on neutral wallis sandpaper, the other two on a colored, smoother canson paper. All three are 5 x 7 in size and done in pastel.

Last, a more mid-line horizon, no emphasis on either.
Hmmmm, the beauty of these photos is that I can now where I need to make a few additions, funny how that process makes it easier to see what is needed.
