After The Frost

Winter in Florida is very subtle, no snow to mark the season but one or two deep freezes which throws everyone into a tailspin.  After a recent freeze I noticed how our beautiful wetlands had turned many different shades of gold. Usually these areas are marked by the greens of vegetation and the blues of the water that pool around in low spots.  This morning however, the entire place was a new rainbow of colors.  The clear blue sky also threw new color into the mix and this is my impression of the results.

Now, I say "impression" for several reasons: I did not have a camera, I have not done pastel since breaking my elbow, and, obviously this is not super realistic.  Add all that to the fact that every time I photographed this piece I saw something I wanted to change....so who knows how it will morph over the coming weeks?  Just wanted to share it as a last post of the old year.  This is Christmas in the wilds of eastern Florida!

  1. Cindy, Nice! We did have the most wonderful color here this year. Donna and I were commenting about the beautiful colorful trees just last week.

    Merry Christmas
