I elected to have shoulder replacement surgery right before Christmas. Unfortunately it is my right shoulder and my entire arm is not very usable for a bit. However I am itching to get back into the studio. Thus I have accepted a challenge from another blogger and will ask your indulgence as I post the results.
Leslie Saeta of Artists Helping Artists occasionally issues a "30 paintings in 30 days" challenge to all of her readers. I've signed on for the January challenge and intend to do my work with my left hand. I'm planning on mostly drawings but who knows if a little color what might sneak in. Participants are asked to post their work in their blog on a daily basis.
My warning to you means that this blog will have a sketch on it every single day for the month, coming to your mailbox. As a once a week blogger I have never wanted to fill your box with useless information... So I will not be offended if you delete these as opposed to looking at them. I will label these blogs as: day one, day two, etc. that way you are free to delete them and read only the usual Friday blogs which are subject based.
Of course if you enjoy seeing the progress that can be made with daily effort, just follow along with the rest of us; we might even pick up a few new readers!
I take this opportunity also to thank you for your readership and your input during 2013; it just makes my day to get a comment or a compliment or a different opinion! Hope you will enjoy going wherever 2014 takes us.
Cheers,
Cindy
P.s. Several have asked how I type one handed? I'm assisted in part by a dictation app.... Where there's a will there's a way, I always say.
You are such a huge inspiration, Cindy! I cannot WAIT to see what all you come up with and how incredibly strong your left hand is going to become!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
